So thankful you posted this Katie. I even find myself even coming back to read this devotional multiple times. I'm on the road to creating that lasting change with my eating, and over and over I find if even for one day I fail to go to the Lord in prayer or get so caught up in being "busy" for a day that I don't sit down to spend time with Him, I lose sight of that change becoming a reality for me. I still have slip-ups with unhealthy eating at night occasionally, but I refuse to give in because I know God will bring me through this! Like you said, He tells us to ask and we shall receive :)

I SO needed to read this tonight. Especially after a day in which I ate healthy all day until tonight after dinner when I gave in to my chocolate cravings and overindulgence in a few spoonfuls of Nutella--and felt like a failure for doing so. Thank you for sharing your own struggles and reminding me that true lasting change is only possible through God at work in us.

I appreciate your thoughts! In the last year or so I have started letting Jesus heal the pain in me. It is a journey, and I'm at the beginning, but so excited to see him working in my life! A quote that recently grabbed me is, " Jesus has no intention of letting you become whole apart from his moment-to-moment presence and life within you." -from the book, Beautiful Outlaw.

As someone who has struggled my whole life with feeling second rate, this really resonated with me, to see that he wants me to succeed in my life, and in fact, loves me so much that he won't let me find peace any other way, is incredibly reassuring. It's so good to be wanted!!

Wow umm this is just awesome ..it's so cool how God knows exactly what you need to hear at the exact time you need it !!! I recently found out I am a perfectionist lol..I have a perfect weight but workout for health and now I want to build muscle and get ripped! I was a Beachbody coach,I have completed p90x once before, I have dabbled with a couple of other Beachbody programs , and recently did the ultimate reset if you've heard of it . All that being said I have found I cannot be consistent !! I always give up if I mess up at all ..my thinking is always " we'll I messed up so I should just go ahead and give up" I love healthy foods and have no problems eating them but the problem is I love sweets ! If I eat one I will eat 100 I have no self control. So anyway I was talking to my husband today about how I can never be consistent for long periods of time so I'm not seeing the results I want..I haven't worked out in like 1 1/2 months and told him hey I'm going to workout today then the conversation shifted to how I think it takes too long to get results and he replied you are such a perfectionist it ruins your mind..he said get up there and workout !! So I did and I'm so glad but the conversation made me think hey...I should pray about this and ask God to help me stay consistent ! He has brought me through addiction to drugs and alcohol ( clean 5 1/2 years ) he can definetly do this minimal task of helping me with workouts !Maybe if I bring him into it then I will stay focused ! It was so awesome when I read your devotional ! Perfect thanks

Thank you so much for this beautiful devotional. I have been to your website many times but this is the first time I scrolled down to the devotional and I felt like it was written just for me. I really needed to hear this not just for my battle with eating but for so many areas in my life. I love how God uses people today to speak and I thank you for being that vessel.
