I have found that when I am really busy that it’s great to have a quick and easy workout options. Here are some of my favorite ways to get my heart pumping!

One of my favorite ways to get in a quick and enjoyable workout is to take a walk while listening to Joyce Meyers on my I Pod!

The great thing about workout classes is that they are great for any fitness level, and most instructors are great at offering many different modifications! Below is a list of some of my favorite workout classes, that are most likely offered at most gyms!

If you simply are not ‘in the mood’ to do any type of traditional workout, no worries! There are plenty of ways to get active outside of the typical gym setting that don’t have to feel like your working out at all! Below is a list of fun activities that I personally have found to be a blast, all while getting your heart rate up!
Indoors: Dance classes, line dancing, indoor sports, cleaning the house, Wii Fit games, and even shopping (hey, if you are doing a lot of walking, this can be a good workout!)
Outdoors: Biking, taking a walk, hiking, rollerblading, canoeing, kayaking, golf (without a cart), outdoor sports, washing the car, gardening, skiing and snowboarding, water skiing & tubing, playing with kids (tag, sports, playing on a playground, etc.).
I hope this list of quick and fun workout ideas inspires you to get active regardless of what situation you find yourself in! As you can see here, (and this certainly is in no way a complete list), there are so many ways to get moving that don’t require a machine at the gym!
I’d love to hear from all of you…What do you guys do for a quick and/or enjoyable workout!?!

Hi Katie,
Thanks for posting this! It’s easy to forget how many options you have when you want a quick workout. A lot of times when I know I won’t have time to workout OR take a shower, I just do little things throughout the day, like parking farther away and taking the stairs, doing calf raises while cooking, planks while reading, walking lunges around the house, and tricep dips while watching TV.

I love Tammy Lee’s old school tapes she just put into DVD. She has an awesome 15 minute high intensity cardio workout! It’s great for when I can’t make it to the gym!

The 30 day shread is a really good quick workout. I found it very intense for a short video. I used it after my first baby and it really kicked me into gear…I had at least 75 pounds to lose! My second baby is 6 weeks now, so I might have to use some of your ideas to mix up my workouts!

This came at the perfect time! I’ve been doing boring old workouts for a while now which makes it super hard to stay motivated. I’ll definitely try some of these to keep me going! Thanks!!

I love most of Jillian Michael’s videos. Especially the new kickbox fastfix. I also have the biggest loser last chance workouts and enjoy those as well. My newest favorite (since its now Spring here) is going for walks with my baby in a carrier, so I have extra weight. It is surprisingly difficult to walk for long periods of time holding an extra 25 pounds! And if I’m really strapped for time, just jumping rope at high speed for 10-15 mins to get in some cardio.

I’ve been actually thinking I need to put my 30 Day Shred in the dvd player for a filler workout! It’s such a calorie burner for only 20 minutes. I love that you posted a pic of yourself saying you walk listening to Joyce Meyer…some of my most enjoyable walks lately have been listening to devotionals, and the time goes by and I feel great when I’m done – physically and spiritually!
You’ve got a great site here. I recently discovered it and just checked back in! Congrats on the new look & content!

Thank you so much for all the time you invest in your site for all of us! I just came across it last week. I love your story and how god has transformed your life. Me husband and I worked with teens for 12 years and I have two girls 7 and 11. The pressures we women and girls face every day could become overwhelming if we do not keep our focus in the right place and have a right perspective of who we are in Christ! Thanks for sharing! I am12 days into the 30 day shred as well as using some of Clare’s workouts over at peak313. :) my husbands office is at home so we like to get out and walk as well!
Thank you and blessings!:)

I swear by the Brazil Butt Lift workout, one in particular (High & Tight). The name is a bit silly but holy smokes!.. after just one session of that workout I swear there’s a noticeable difference! I recently discovered Ballet Body DVD’s too. Really hard but very effective.

I hate losing my workout streak when I am feeling under the weather and not feeling up to anything too tough. Those days I do a good yoga video which seems to help me feel a little better while being gentle to my body and it helps me stay in the habit of daily exercise.
