Ahh…Spring! The time when birds start chirping, flip flops get broken out, and ice cream shops start to open everywhere! The only problem with most of these creamy treats is that they can be packed with more sugar, fat, and calories than anyone should ever have in an entire day! Not to mention, most of them are completely void of any protein, which can lead to blood sugar swings, and a feeling of being ‘unsatisfied’ shortly after consuming them. This Chocolate Covered Strawberry Frozen Yogurt may just be the perfect treat to get you through those ‘ice cream cravings’, all while getting a good dose of healthy protein, and a serving of fruit! So, the next time you are wanting ice cream, try this at-home frozen yogurt that is ready in minutes, and much healthier at that!
Place the cottage cheese in the blender first to make for easy blending! Otherwise, if you don't have a very good blender, you can also use a food processor for this recipe!

What’s the difference between guar gum & xanthan gum? I know from making your protein shakes, I’ve been using the xanthan gum.. is this something different you’ll be using from now on??

oh, they are pretty much the same thing! the guar gum just makes things a bit creamier than the xanthan, which is more for thickening… both would work!

Bravo to this! I’ve been making smoothies with cottage cheese all week, including using chocolate protein powder (per your inspiration) to make something like the above. Cottage cheese isn’t nearly as weird in a smoothie as it sounds! And I’m excited to try the PB&J one tonight.

what a refreshing looking yet healthy dessert. I like the idea that it has the protein in it. I wonder if kids would eat it?

I tried making this tonight and it turned out slightly gritty :( Any tips? I used small curd cottage cheese. Or perhaps I need a better blender.
Dashing Dish said:
Hi katie, it’s the blender :) do you have a food processor? That would get it really smooth!

Ok Thanks!

This looks so good! I don’t have any cottage cheese — could I use plain yogurt instead?
