For as long as I can remember, my aunt has always brought a homemade apple pie for dessert on Thanksgiving Day. I love the taste of warm apples coated in a sweet cinnamon filling, but what really gives an apple pie it’s unforgettable taste is the flakey crust! The baked cinnamon and sugar wontons are the perfect replacement, and not only do they look pretty, they are flakey and delicious, and are only 20 calories each! Add a little whip cream and cinnamon, and you have all the taste of a classic apple pie without the calories!

I totally agree with you: a flaky pie crust is the best part of the pie. But wow, these layered apple pies look so delicious too!

Morgan- I have celiac disease, too. There’s a recipe for gluten free wonton wrappers in Gluten Free on a Shoestring. The recipe has been reproduced online here: http://glutenfreeonashoestring.com/won-ton-wrappers/

I don’t see how many wanton wrappers to use on the ingredients list. Could you let me know :) thanks!

I just tried this recipe, but I had to make some changes because I didn’t have all the right ingredients. Instead of wontons I use tortillas and sliced them into squares. I also just used nutmeg and Gala apples because I had no Granny Smith’s. They came out pretty good. Thanks!
