What could be better than enjoying a slice of red velvet cheesecake in a rich creamy ‘milkshake’ packed with protein!?! This shake makes an excellent breakfast or snack, and is so delicious that you will have a hard time believing that it is actually good for you!
This shake is a great meal replacement on a busy morning, or as a post workout snack!

What is butter extract? Does it change the flavor that much, or can I omit it if I don’t have it? Thanx!
Dashing Dish said:
it can certainly be omitted …it is like vanilla extract found in the baking aisle!

made it!!! I heart this shake :)

I’ve made this twice already! So yummy! Taste great with or without the butter extract- but the extract adds a little punch!

After being a member for like two months, this is the first recipe I tried. SO FANTASTIC. Couldn’t get it quite as red as you since my protein is chocolate but still so good!

This was zoo good & such a fun Valentine’s Day treat! Mine definitely didn’t turn out as red – think I would have needed a few more drops food coloring. I did a couple drops butter extract and a couple of almond and 1 tbs cheesecake pudding mix/ 1 tbs chocolate pudding mix so it was a little more like a red velvet cake flavor rather than red velvet cheesecake :) Thank you for all your genius shake combos. I just love them!

I am enjoying this as a sweet dinner at this very moment- it is delish! Your shake combos are amazing and creative- thank you! Have you ever tried to do something “cookies and creme” style? If so please post :)

what is the xantham gum for? can i leave it off to? looks so yummy!:)
Dashing Dish said:
Xanthan gum helps thicken, creating a smoother consistency. It really helps it bind it together. I think it is a MUST :) but if you would like to leave it off, it will still taste just as yummy!

I have to say a big THANK YOU. I hate protein powder, but I love you shakes! They feel sinful but are amazing. I love all your recipes but your shakes have total changed my mind on protein powder.

I have a vitamix and I’ve decided to start making my protein shakes thicker. I just watched your video on how to make them and noticed that you barely put any water in. Do you really use a minimum of 1/2 cup like you say in your recipes? If not, how much would you say that you add to get a really thick shake? Thanks!!
Dashing Dish said:
yes…anywhere between 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup :) depending on how much ice :)
the key is truly xanthan gum :)

Oh. My. Gosh. I just made this, and it seriously tastes like a cheesecake milkshake, chock full of sugar and all that awful stuff! You are AMAZING! This is a great post workout shake! (Didn’t have any red food coloring but it still is absolutely wonderfully delicious.)

I made this shake this morning and WOWW!! It was totally delicious, so much so that I told all the ladies at work about your website and awesome shakes! Only thing I left out was the food coloring and it was “chocolate cheesecake” instead. Totally delicious!!
