Love this! I have to bring a snack for work and this was a lifesaver. Altered it to fit what I had in the house. Used 2 cans of generic biscuits rolled into three balls per biscuit and used light syrup. My kids and I tried one and my 8 yr. old said, "Scrumptious!" I'll be making more of these! Thanks for the recipe

Would you have more of a nutritional breakdown for this recipe available? I am concerned about suger, which shouldn't be much considering I am using the Splenda substitute sugar.

My family has fallen in love with this recipe! I have not disclosed the fact that I am using Splenda instead of sugar!

Trish - I understand your concern for using stevia or artificial sweeteners. However as a Registered Dietitian, I can assure you they are perfectly safe. Stevia is a natural sweetener made from a plant that is native to northeast Paraguay and was first discovered & used in 1887. It is actually 30 times sweeter than sugar and therefore less is needed when sweetening foods. Many, many studies have been conducted to make sure stevia is safe for public consumption. Overall a person would need to consume twenty, 12oz cans of diet pop or 97 packets of sweetener EVERYDAY before they would even get close to the recommended limit - and this limit is set with a 100x fold safety factor! I would highly encourage you to check out eatright.org to review the information for yourself but I have found cooking with stevia to prepare these WONDERFUL recipes to be a great idea. I'm so thankful I came across The Dashing Dish! The recipes and devotions are great for my heart, soul & body. :)

This looks like a great website! I am trying soooo hard to find very low or no sugar options for recipes. I know how bad sugar can be for you! However, as much as I want to jump on the stevia bandwagon, I have heard that it can affect reproductive health! Not sure if that is true, but it seems that everything touted as good for us today, becomes bad for us tomorrow!
