We Overcome By The Word of Our Testimony!

September 28th, 2012 - Announcements, Inspiration, True Beauty

The other day when I was on a walk, I started reflecting on the amazing testimonies people have shared about how God has transformed their life. Whether it be about how God has helped people overcome in the area of weight related strongholds, eating disorders, or poor self image…I have recieved so many wonderful praise reports oh how God has taken the ‘ashes’ of peoples lives and turned it into ‘beauty’. (Isaiah 61:3)

It was during this walk that I felt the Lord prompt me to have people share their testimonies on Dashing Dish, as a way to encourage others that they too can and will overcome whatever it is they are facing with the Lord’s help. I believe this is SO powerful for many reasons, but if nothing else, every time we share our testimony something powerful happens…The bible says that when we share what the Lord has done in our lives, that we “Overcome satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.” (Revelation 12:11)

After praying about it, I would love it if you shared your testimony with me via e-mail about how God has touched your life in the area of weight related issues, eating disorders, self image issues, or how He has given you guidance and strength to live a healthy lifestyle for you and your family. I will then share them on Dashing Dish (with your permission of course), as a way of blessing and encouraging others with the good news of what the Lord has done!

Please note that these testimonies don’t have to include your name, (unless you desire them too), and they don’t have to be long! Also, they can, but certainly don’t have to relate to Dashing Dish…It is purely all about how the Lord has helped you overcome weight, eating, and self-image related battles!

Let’s join together and overcome the enemy by praising the name of Jesus and sharing how He has taken the ashes of our lives and turned them into True Beauty!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for prayerfully considering sharing your testimony!

I cannot wait to read these testimonies. I have a 13 year old daughter whom I constantly am pressing the Word into about her image and how it lies solely in God’s eyes and NOT the worlds. She was created for God to rejoice in her beauty and not for the world to tell her lies that she does not measure up. I cannot wait to be encouraged by others stories to pass on to my daughter.
Thank You!

We serve an AWESOME GOD!!He is my Savior and Healer. In April my husband and I had a heart scan to check the calcium level in our blood and to make a very long story short, they found lung cancer in me.I have never smoked and have been a swimmer all my life and this came out of nowhere!!!We were shocked and I had to have a lobectomy on the upper right lobe and it got all the cancer. The entire time I was going through this,I knew my Lord was holding me in His arms and I had total peace, which I don’t understand fully, but He remains faithful! No chemo or radiation!PTL

I totally love this!!!! You are such an inspiration!

Even though I accepted Christ at the age of 5, I’ve learned that he is more than enough to supply my needs. In Jan of this year, I was staying at a friends, and about 3 am one morning my father woke me up and told me we have to hurry and get to North Carolina because something has happen to Memphis ( my sisters 5 month old son, my nephew).
When we arrived on the scene I was told that he had passed away in the night, and the cause was probably SIDS. At that moment all I could see was my sister who is my biggest role model crushed too pieces and wondering where to turn to.
All I could do was pray and try and listen for Gods direction ;and in such a foggy and tragic time, I’m gonna be honest, it’s hard to hear Gods voice.
When all hope was almost lost, I was getting ready for the funeral , I could hear a faint cry and whispering and walked into the room it was coming from, I found my sister on her knees clenching a onsie from her son, and around her was my older sisters arms, and she was praying, without hestitation I wrapped my arms around both of them. Within moments of praying, I suddenly felt a calm peace come in. I knew it was the grace of God had come in and wrapped his arms around us. It was then I knew Gods grace was suffcient for every need and his mercy endures forever, and everything in time would be fine.
