The Daily Dish~ Packing for a Healthier Vacation!

February 16th, 2012 - Daily Dish

Hey everyone! First and foremost, I have to take a moment and thank everyone for all of the e-mails, comments, and compliments I’ve been receiving about recipes that people have tried and enjoyed! It is truly such a blessing to hear that people are enjoying healthy eating in a whole new way when they try my recipes!

It’s truly my passion to teach people that living a healthy lifestyle can be enjoyable and realistic… So, when I hear stories about how people are learning that healthy eating can be tasty and easy, it makes me say “YES” on the inside! So thank you for taking the time to tell me, I truly do appreciate any feedback!!!

On a different note, I’m getting ready to go on a vacation… to Cancun! So, I thought I’d share some of the tips I’ve learned over the years in order to have a healthier vacation! Now, notice I said “Healthier”… Meaning, I definitely do indulge on treats and relax.  However, I’ve gone both ways on vacations in the past, (where I’ve eaten junk food all week, and other times where I eat healthy most of the time,) and I can honestly say that I feel so much better, and enjoy the trip so much more when I am feeling full of energy and healthier overall!

Dashing Devotional~ You are Loved!

February 13th, 2012 - Dashing Devotionals

Valentines Day is just around the corner!!! A day filled with flowers, cards, romance, and spending time with your special someone. While that is wonderful, especially if you have a ‘special someone’, it often times leaves many people feeling lonely if they don’t have someone to share this day with, or even disappointed if your loved one isn’t exactly the ‘romantic type’.

If that sounds familiar, I’ve got great news for you! The very author of love LOVES YOU, and His name is Jesus!

I know we have all heard the saying “Jesus loves You” more times than we can count, but I want you to get a revelation of this truth. It’s more than just a bumper sticker, or a cliche saying used to make someone’s day brighter. The very creator of this universe loves you so much that He thinks of you daily. In fact, He calls you by name!

Before you were even born, He knew you. Jeremiah 1:5 says that He created you in your mother’s womb and He has a plan and purpose for you. He cares about every detail of your life. In fact in Luke 12:7, He said that He knows the number of hairs on your head! Just think of that… He knows everything about you down to the number of hairs on your head!

It may be hard to believe the love that He has for you because of something that has happened in your life that has made it hard for you to trust His love for you. Maybe you don’t “feel” His love, or maybe you’ve never really experienced His love for you personally.

If any of those sound familiar, I know what your going through! I have certainly experienced all of those situations. In fact, I am still learning more about His unconditional love every day, and I believe it will take a lifetime to even begin to understand the great depth, height, and length of God’s love for us.

However, in my quest to know God’s great love, I have come to realize that Christ’s love for us is that it is there whether we feel it emotionally, whether we deserve it, or whether we believe or receive it. The greatest act of love that has or ever will be displayed is when God sent his only son to die for you and I so we could have a close, intimate relationship with Him. Nothing can or ever will change that act of love He demonstrated for you.

So on a day where love is celebrated by many, I encourage you to seek God’s love for you. All you have to do is get quite for a moment and ask Him to show you. You are always on His mind…And He is always ready to show you! Often times it’s us who don’t give Him the time, or open up our hearts to receive His love. Despite all of our actions though, I can promise you that The One that created you is waiting to pour out His love on you.

No height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~ Romans 8:39
