For most of my life I hated exercise. These negative feelings originated all the way back to my middle school years. I believed I was completely doomed when it came to sports or anything active; Which resulted in me never trying out for or participating in any sports, and a lack of motivation to even try. Fast forward a few years when I started to try to exercise in high school and college. I did what I thought was best and went to the gym where I spent hours on the elliptical, treadmill, or doing cardio. I used exercise as a means to "burn off" the pizza I had had the night before, almost as a means of punishment, and it certainly felt like it! After burning myself out with that approach (both physically and mentally), I finally started to educate myself on the benefits of weight training, and circuit training. I also started to incorporate group exercise classes which gave me a sense of community and made my workouts fun and something I looked forward to!
It was at then that I finally started to see results from my workouts, and to my surprise they were also much shorter, had more variety, and became something I actually looked forward to! That was about 10 years ago, and I am still going "strong" today! My workouts continue to be something I look forward to, and I am always learning and researching, which continues to make things exciting and fresh as the years go on.
I share this to say, if you feel like you are trapped in a boring workout routine, or are just going through the motions, you don't have to stay there! I made it my goal when creating the Stronger Together program to help those of you who feel like my middle school self- STUCK and hopeless, or are in my high school days- BURNT OUT and tired! I want you to break free from the restrictions and mindsets that are holding you back and find joy in your journey; All while reaching your goals and feeling your best!
