The Lord will work out his plans for my life—for your loving-kindness, Lord, continues forever. Don’t abandon me—for you made me. Psalm 138:8 (TLB)
The Lord made you perfectly. There is not one single thing about you that was not lovingly and masterfully considered. Long before your birth, the Lord dreamed of you and, He rejoiced over the idea of you. You were very literally handmade by the God of the universe. He sees you. He knows you. He is overwhelmed by your beauty. YOU are His beloved. When we begin to understand the value of our lives and the purpose behind it, we gain confidence amid trouble and doubt. In today’s Psalm, we see that David is confident that God will revive him, save him, protect him, be merciful to him, and never forsake him. We can learn from David’s confidence. We too can know that God is for us today! I love this quote from Warren Wiersbe’s BE Bible Study Series, he explains, “To ‘look upon the lowly’ means to pay attention to them and regard them with favor. The ultimate proof of this is the incarnation of Jesus Christ, for He became poor that we might become rich and became a servant that we might be set free. He was lowly in His life and in His death, for He who is perfect was treated like a criminal and nailed to a cross, and on that cross, He became sin for us. David gave thanks that the Lord knew his need and came to his aid. In His covenant with David, God revealed that He had a great purpose to fulfill through David’s life, and He would not allow the enemy to thwart that purpose. This is true of believers today and He will not forsake us. It has well been said that the purpose of prayer is not to get the will of man done in heaven but to get God’s will done on earth, and this was demonstrated in David’s life.” Do you believe deep down in the depth of your soul that you were made perfectly by the hand of God for this exact moment? You’ve been divinely equipped with everything you need to live a victorious life and to bring God glory through your unique purpose. How can you use the gifts God has given you to glorify Him today? You are fully equipped, and it will be greater than you can ever dream or imagine. Walk in the full assurance of Christ today!
