"The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied." Proverbs 13:4
“Do the hard things first.”
Doing the hard things first is a concept I work at both teaching, and modeling to my kids. The truth is, it’s opposite human nature. We naturally tend to gravitate toward the path of least resistance. However, the easy path usually isn't the most fruitful path. The things worth doing most are rarely the easy things. It speaks to the popular motto, “I didn’t say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.” Getting into the habit of tackling the hard things in your day, to-do list, and health journey first yields tremendous blessing. As you take inventory of your day and your healthy journey, I ask you, what's YOUR hard thing today? Maybe it's choosing to see through a commitment you'd rather back out on? Maybe it's choosing a workout versus sleeping in? Maybe it's something much closer to the heart like choosing forgiveness over bitterness and resentment? Whatever your hard thing is today, choose to do it first. Growing in this habit builds character and strength. It grows our grit, and trains us for the endurance race ahead. You are stronger than you know, and capable of far more than you probably dare dream. Enjoy your strong self today and choose that narrow path strong woman of God!
